Universum corruptorem

2017

Intervention on the personal library of the Colombian conservative politician Gilberto Alzate Avendaño, located in FUGA (Fundación Gilberto Alzate Avendaño) as part of the Queer Archive Institute’s exhibition in Bogota, Colombia. It was the culminating point of research that started with Baño Turco, assembling all the queer references that had an impact during my teenage years. It works as both a personal constellation of icons and as an example of the multiple -sometimes random- influences during the formative years of a Latino gay man; lost in the middle of Los Andes, with access to all the information, but far from many sources.
